What personal information do we collect?

Depending on the type of communication or transaction, the personal information we collect may include, but is not limited to, your name, postal address, post code, telephone numbers, organisation name, email address, or bank information.

Where and when do we collect personal information?

You will be asked to provide your personal information when making donations, requesting communications, registering for a fundraiser or event, applying for volunteer work with Ceesay Nursery School and/or in connection with other Ceesay Nursery School business (whether it is via the website, email, direct mail or telephone communications).

How do you update or manage how we use your personal information?

You have a choice about whether you wish to receive information from us. If you do not want to receive direct communications from us about the work we do to provide a start in education for poor and orphaned children in the Gambia, then you can unsubscribe from our mailing list. Please note that sponsors or donors will be emailed by the charity unless you indicate that you do not wish to receive any further communication.

How will we disclose the information we have collected to outside parties?

We will never sell, rent or trade your personal information.

What information do we collect on children?

We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 18 or knowingly allow such persons to provide us with their personal information without parent or guardian consent. If you are under 18, do not send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone numbers, or email address, unless you have your parent’s or guardian’s permission. In the event we learn that we collected personal information from anyone under the age of 18, and do not have a parent or guardian’s consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. What is our information security set-up?

All online donations are done via our BT MyDonate page. The MyDonate service uses an advanced encryption technology provided by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), a recognised authentication and encryption software. You can read more about BT MyDonate’s security on its FAQs for Fundraisers page.

Our website is run on WordPress and any information entered on our Contact Us page is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) before transmission. On secure pages, a “closed” lock symbol is displayed in the bottom part of your browser screen and the website address in the address bar at the top of the browser screen starts with an “https” instead of an “http”.

We store personal information collected about our donors, sponsors and volunteers in password-protected folders on Dropbox, and only designated members of the Ceesay Nursery School steering group have access to digital or hard copies of that information. We send emails from Mailchimp, where we store only names and email addresses of our contacts. You can read about Mailchimp’s security protections on their website.

What happens when you see ads on our website pages?

Third Party Advertisers may also serve cookies and web beacons through our website to serve targeted ads. Ads appearing in any WordPress sites may be delivered by advertising networks. Other parties may also provide analytics services via WordPress sites. These ad networks and analytics providers may set tracking technologies (like cookies) to collect information about your use of WordPress sites and across other websites and online services. These technologies allow these third parties to recognize your device to compile information about you or others who use your device.
