Since the children that attend Ceesay Nursery School are very, very poor and often orphaned, many of their parents are unable to pay their school fees or buy them a uniform.
The money raised over the winter was used to buy school supplies, help with the teachers’ salaries (which often go unpaid, due to lack of funds) and also to ensure every child had a new school uniform.
